White Knight Chronicles News: NA Release, Game Details
It's the news role-playing fans have been waiting for, plus a whole lot more in the way of pertinent information and details.
It has been confirmed that White Knight Chronicles is indeed headed to North America - although we still don't have a solid release date - and it comes courtesy of an interview with US Producer for the game, Tsubasa Inaba, conducted by Social Media Manager for SCEA and the PlayStation blog, Jeff Rubenstein. The video features an awesome Q&A between those two guys; the questions came from PS blog readers, which must be most satisfying. Inaba first clarifies that the combat in WKC is best described as "action/turn-based," which means it's not the traditional press-button-and-watch, but there are turns for the player and opponents. The next question involved any possible changes the North American version may have, and although Inaba wasn't specific, he did say they're using the localization time to iron out a few kinks and institute a few "tweaks." He went on to talk about voice chat (they're trying to get it into the North American version) and the possibility of getting the original Japanese voices. Inaba actually said he hadn't thought about it and the game currently only has the English voices, but if the fans really want it, maybe we'll get it...
And of course, because there's a large online multiplayer component, there were questions that involved the co-op aspect. There won't be a co-op where you follow the single-player campaign, but Inaba says there are "plenty of motivating factors" to jump online and play with friends. One of those factors is all the weapons you can find (there are over 200 in the game), and the fact that you can take any weapons found online and use them in the single-player mode! Stay tuned for more on White Knight Chronicles, and here's hoping a solidified release date will come our way at E3.
